Work
For lots of us work is a huge part of our lives and it’s where we spend a large majority of our time.
When you aren’t feeling at your best and are worried, stressed or anxious it’s understandable that it can have an impact on your work.
Our Employment Advisors can offer you free confidential advice and support to help you stay in work, or return to work after a break.
All of our employment support is provided by Sheffield Occupational Health Advisory Service (SOHAS) who we work in partnership with.
What can we help with?
There are a range of issues we can support you and your employer with, including:
- Redundancy
- Unfair dismissal
- Holidays
- Grievances
- Disability discrimination
- Reasonable adjustments
- Employment rights
- Advocacy
We can also work with your employer to help them understand the impact that anxiety or depression can have on your ability to work.
Our aim is to support you to be at your best at work and either keep you in work, or help you to return when you feel ready.
Who is it suitable for?
We can offer support to anyone who is currently receiving support from our service.
You must live or work in Sheffield, and be employed or off sick from work and looking for support around your employment.
How do appointments work?
We can offer you a face to face, video or telephone appointment, it’s completely up to you and what makes you feel most comfortable. We can also give email advice if you would prefer.
Usually you will be offered an appointment within two weeks of being referred to our service.
Appointments can be held in one of our private appointment rooms, at some GP practices or at the Sheffield Occupational Health Advisory Service office in the city centre.
How do I get referred?
To be referred for employment support please speak to your therapist at your next appointment. They can arrange for a referral.
