Student Sessions

In addition to the main Sheffield Talking Therapies service, we have a programme of tailored one-off sessions for students. This yearly programme provides a space for students to think about their own wellbeing, provide some tips on how to look after yourself and give you a taster of what Sheffield Talking Therapies treatment looks like. 

Below is a list of the different Student Sessions we provide and an overview of what we will cover within each.

Managing Uncertainty and Adapting to Change

  • A brief overview of Sheffield Talking Therapies and what treatment is available
  • How does uncertainty affect us and what can we do to manage worries we may have
  • Tips to look after your wellbeing through times of change

Managing Unhelpful Thinking

  • Understanding the links between thoughts, feelings and what you do
  • How to recognise unhelpful thinking styles
  • Technique to challenge and balance out unhelpful thoughts

  • Signs and symptoms of stress

  • What can you do to manage stress and get through the exam period well

Managing Procrastination

This session will include:

  • What is procrastination and avoidance
  • How can this further impact on your mood
  • Tips to help you overcome this

Long-Term Health Conditions

  • Understanding the link between mood/anxiety and management of a health condition
  • Techniques to help improve the way you feel and your confidence in managing your health

Course Dates

Our Student Sessions will be held on Wednesdays from 1pm until 2:30pm.

All of our sessions will be held online using Microsoft Teams.
